You can delete your Seylen account and the data that goes with it at any time. You do not need a reason, and you will not be asked for one.
If you still have the app
This is the fastest route, and it is entirely in your hands:
- Open Seylen
- Go to You → Settings
- Choose Delete account and confirm
Nothing else is needed. The deletion is scheduled straight away.
If you have already uninstalled it
Email [email protected] from the email address on your account, and ask us to delete it.
We will reply to that same address to confirm the request is really from you before anything is deleted. That step exists to protect you: without it, anyone who knew your email address could have your account erased.
A person reads every message, so please allow a little time for a reply.
You have 24 hours to change your mind
Deleting does not take effect immediately. Your account is scheduled for deletion 24 hours later, and nothing is lost until then.
To stop it:
- Open Seylen and log back in
- Seylen shows you the deletion screen straight away — there is nothing to go looking for
- Choose Keep my account
That screen also tells you the exact date and time the deletion is set to run. Choosing Log out there instead leaves the deletion running, so use Keep my account if you want to stop it.
Once the 24 hours have passed, the deletion runs and cannot be undone.
What gets deleted
When the deletion runs, we remove:
- your conversations and messages
- the memories and topics Seylen formed from them
- your mood check-ins
- your profile and personalization
- your notification settings and push tokens
- your session credentials
A small amount of consent and security-audit data is kept afterwards, and none of it contains your conversations. Section 7 of our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what and why.
If you only want to remove some of it
You do not have to delete your whole account to make Seylen forget something. You can remove individual memories and themes, and keep everything else:
- Open Seylen and go to the You tab
- Find the theme under What you're navigating, or the memory under Upcoming & recent
- Tap the trash icon beside it, then confirm Remove
This takes effect immediately. There is no waiting period and no request for us to approve — Seylen stops using it straight away.
You can also change or clear what you told us about yourself, under Edit personalization on the same screen.
One thing worth being plain about: removing a memory removes what Seylen learned, not the conversation it came from. To remove your conversations as well, delete your account using the steps above.
If you pay for Seylen
You do not need to cancel your membership first. Deleting your account cancels it as well, so you will not be charged again.
